Privacy Policy

MapHop doesn't collect your data. This page explains what the app does with links and what stays on your iPhone.

Who we are

MapHop: Open Map Links ("MapHop") is made by Brightwood Labs LLC ("we"). Questions about this policy: use the form on the support page.

The short version

MapHop has no accounts, ads, analytics SDKs, or tracking. Brightwood Labs does not collect, sell or share personal data from the app. The App Store privacy label for MapHop is "Data Not Collected".

Links you convert

Links are converted on your iPhone.

To expand Google short links (maps.app.goo.gl and goo.gl/maps), the app sends a request for that link directly to Google. Google sees it as any web request, and Google's privacy policy applies. MapHop doesn't send links anywhere else.

The Safari extension

The MapHop Safari extension runs only on Google Maps pages on google.com. It reads the page's web address to convert it, and nothing else. It does not read page content, other sites, or your browsing history.

What stays on your iPhone

Recent places and the free-conversion counter are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. You can delete Recent entries in the app. Deleting the app removes everything.

To show a readable name for a pin that has only coordinates in Recent, the app uses Apple's geocoding service. Apple's privacy policy applies.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive no personal information from Apple about your purchase beyond what's needed to unlock the app on your device.

Messages you send us

If you contact us through the support form, we receive the email address and message you enter, and use them only to reply. We keep them in our email inbox and delete them on request.

Children

MapHop is not directed at children under 13. We don't collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
